Mark Dedona

Mark DeDona was born in Queens, NY. He has been playing chess for over 10 years. From an early age, Mark showed huge promise in the game of chess.

He has played thousands of games, and his accomplishments include achieving National Master (USCF Rating of 2200+, top 1% chess players in the United States). He has won several team scholastic state/national championships, defeated multiple GMs, and beat the former Icelandic National Champion in a rated match.

Mark has been coaching for 4 years. As a coach, he has experience in both private and group lessons. He coached the 2021 6th-grade national champions.

Currently, he is a Freshman at Sacred Heart University, majoring in Sports Management and minoring in Psychology. After serving as the President of his High School chess team, he is now the President of the Sacred Heart University Chess Team.
