Coach Fred Osborne

Coach Fred has been coaching with DIG Soccer for three years. He has coached small groups and individual lessons improving players attitude, fitness, and skills.

Fred was a three-year starter for Marist College Men’s Soccer team, as a central defender and full-back. During his senior year he marshaled the back line to help his team reach the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) semi-final. Additionally, Fred received the 2011 Coaches’ Award for the Men’s Soccer team, and was a three time member of the MAAC All-Academic team.

A three-year starter for Trumbull High School, Fred was a two-time First Team All-FCIAC selection and a two-time First Team Connecticut Post performer. As a junior, he was named the FCIAC Championship MVP. During his senior campaign he was named All-State and First Team Hartford Courant. As both a junior and senior, Fred’s Trumbull teams were undefeated in the regular season. His Yankee United club team were State Cup semifinalist in 2006 and 2008, and State Cup winners in 2007. Fred served as captain for both his high school and club teams as well.
