Coach Adi Mital

Adi started with DIG nearly 8 years ago when he was 7 years old. Adi developed over time in to one of DIG’s strongest chess players. Because of his strong play and volunteer work, he was chosen as the 2019 DIG Player of the Year.

Adi is a Junior at Wilton High School who plays chess competitively and partakes in many tournaments. Earlier in his chess career, he finished first place at the CT State Chess Championship for 7th grade. Recently, on Nov 5th, 2022, Adi finished first place at the CT State Chess Championship for 11th grade.

Adi started coaching three years ago at the South Norwalk Library and has continued to coach since then.

Adi has experience teaching many libraries including the Farmington and Darien Libraries. He has also volunteered his time coaching our free Bridgeport chess program that has over 50 students. He has also taught several private chess lessons with DIG students, helping his students improve their chess knowledge and confidence.
